Ficus as a Bonsai by Dave Bogan

Dave discusses the care, treatment, tips, tricks, and design of ficus as bonsai. This should be of particular interest to tropical growers in the north.

Dave, nice job. Good discussion of a more scientific approach to why you came to use the soil you do. I would wish for more photographs, though. The time has come to document as much as possible, what one is seeing or doing. We have great tools to illustrate what we are doing if we will just use them.

Keep up the good work!

A very nice overview of how ficus should be grown. I have already moved mine so they get better sun.

Very informative, but a bit more about winter care would have been great ..... especially if the article addressed winter care for those of us without greenhouses. Vic

I had to reread this one tonight because I'm getting ready to work on one of my ficus. Interesting information! Now I'm looking forward to the next article on ficus experiments!
