Got my digging mutt all sharpened...double checked my pack for all the essentials. Car had an oil change. Hotel reservations made, local watering hole checked out. All I got to do now is get the no doze for the 9.5 hour drive. Can't wait to see what Indy yews have to offer :D

My car gets an oil change Friday morning. Figuring out what tools I need and that will fit in a small car with 3 people in it. Getting very pumped for this expedition! :D

Made it...I'm here...and the drive about finished me off literally and figuratively. Going over the Appalachians being a bonsai freak can be dangerous...about drove off the road several times...GORGEOUS pines everywhere you look

TOM!!! you should know better by now, thats why you bring a driver! or just make lots of stops :) Ditch trees are only meant to be met on YOUR terms, not when you swerve off the road looking at OTHER ditch trees.

Home from the dig. Lots of fun, even if only a few of the plants were very bonsai-worthy. But I did come back with two yews, biggest stock I'll probably ever have, and all my car could hold. In fact, three other guys had to help me load one of them into my trunk! Good thing my wife and I ended up taking two cars. :D

Very nice to meet Tom and Brian, and Brian's wife, mom and siblings. Brian's mom fixed us an absolutely delicious lunch: juicy burgers with home-grown tomatoes, home-made cookies, brownies and blueberry pie. Tom, you should have hung around a couple more hours; maybe you could have deducted it as a business lunch.

Sore muscles. I'll post a few pics in a day or two.
