Jerry Meislik, a.k.a. "Mr. Ficus," will be in Fort Wayne, IN, this coming Saturday, July 18. His visit is sponsored by the Fort Wayne Bonsai Club.
Jerry will conduct a workshop in the morning, in which participants can work on 'Tigerbark' Ficus microcarpa (provided,) or bring in their own trees for styling and refinement advice. In the afternoon he will give a styling demonstration, using a large 'Tigerbark.' (He requested that cultivar for his demo.)
The workshop is open to 10 participants and 10 observers. The workshop fee is $45; a 'Tigerbark' tree costs $40. (Ft. Wayne club members get a discount.)
Admission to the demonstration is limited to 40 people. Cost is $20 (again, local club members get a discount.) Besides the chance to watch Jerry slice-and-dice, your admission includes a free raffle ticket. The raffle prize? Jerry's demo tree. And with a maximum of 40 people, your chance of winning, while small, is realistic.
